A young boy finds an egg, that hatches into a dragon (voiced by Rachel Weisz). He finds that he is the last of the dragon riders and that in order to save the land he must destroy an evil king (Robert Carlyle) and rescue a beautiful princess (Sienna Guillory), whilst being tutored by Jeremy Irons.
